How Do I Manually Add Students To Groups?

Manually adding individual students to a group is as easy as inputting an email address. This quick tutorial shows you how.

Note to free account users: Free Propello accounts do not come with the default ability to roster and/or manually add students.Student rostering access will be granted on a first come, first served basis for free users by request only starting the week of April 10, 2023.

1. Go to app.propello.com

2. From The Library…

From the Library, navigate tot he account tab in the upper right hand corner of the page, next to your name. 

3. Click on My Groups

Click the icon next to your name, and it will trigger a dropdown menu. Click "My Groups". 

4. Adding A Student To A Group

On the My Groups page, you will have a list of groups that you have previously created or imported. Click the Group to which you wish to add the student. For this example, we're going to manually add a student to the previously created After School Tutorial 2 group. 

5. Click on Add student

In the selected Group, click "Add student." 

6. Type the student's email.

In the box, type the student's email address. Then click "Add." 

7. Student is Added to Group

Once added, you will see the number of students in the group has changed to reflect the new student addition. 

8. Seeing the Students Listed In The Group

If you click on the number of students, a list of students by email address will populate. As you can see, our new student is now listed in the group and activities may now be assigned via a Learning Path. From here, students may also be deleted from a group by using the "Remove student" button. 


9. Making Sure Your Students Have Access

For students who have been added manually to be able to access the Propello content, they will need to set a password to finish creating their accounts. 

Instruct them to visit app.propello.com and choose the "Forget Password" option. A password reset will be sent to their school email address and they will be able to create their own passwords to log into the account. Students will then have access to the Propello content you have assigned to them.
